Adult Respite Care Program
Welcome to our new Respite Care Program located at 266 Main Street where our current Queens Home Support Agency is located. This program is part of 1 in 4 pilot programs in the province that was funded through a generous grant from the Department of Seniors and Long Term Care. This project gave us the opportunity to develop this program for our current home support clients to access.
This one-of-a-kind program allows our current home support clients to join us for the day and spend time with others from the community. Participants are also able to access their personal care needs within the program if they choose so. The program provides space for participation in therapeutic activities, keeping your loved ones busy and engaged.
Participants can interact with others and have a life outside their homes. This program will help participants overall health by reducing social isolation, increase stimulation, and gets them up and moving in a familiar environment outside of their homes.
On the other hand, caregivers benefit from this program by getting their lives back knowing their loved ones are in a safe environment being care for throughout the day. Caregivers get their independence added back into their days which can help reduce any caregiver burnout when having time for a well-deserved break.
Overall, this program will help provide a whole new way to look at home support in this community.

We partnered with a local Wheels program from Queens Manor to provide hot

This program allows participants the ability to leave their homes and socialize with others in the community. The program will improve overall health by reducing social isolation, increase stimulation, and gets people moving around.
